Different Colours Double 7" Vinyl
£10.00
We have managed to find a very small number of this sought after item
Featuring 4 new, previously unreleased songs the follow up to their recent acclaimed ‘The Brightest Light’ album is a strictly limited edition double 7” vinyl EP that comes complete with a free poster of the band and lyric sheet.
In a unique and experimental move each song was written and sung by a different member of the band.
“Atomic Heart” was written and sung by Wayne Hussey. “Carnival” by Craig Adams. “Judgement Day” by Simon Hinkler and, finally, “Never Leave Well Enough Alone” by drummer Mike Kelly.
We did ask each band member to write some words about their own particular offering. Craig and Mike declined the opportunity choosing to let the songs talk for themselves.
Wayne on Atomic Heart: “It’s just a simple, little song that started life as Chernobyl Heart but Chernobyl as a word to sing was a bit of a mouthful, not that I’m against mouthfuls mind you, so I changed it to Atomic. We played it live a few times during the Cult tour in 2012. This is the first song that I wrote when I sat down to start writing songs for The Brightest Light. It’s the song that tapped the mine and opened a very rich vein for me.”
Simon on Judgement Day: “This is a song for, and about, those who live in anticipation of The Rapture; the day when, they say, the Earth will end in catastrophe and the righteous will float up into the clouds and be saved. Despite putting some of their best brains to the task, and spending millions advertising it, these poor folks just can’t seem to work out the date.”
